Honoring the Late Administrative Assistant, Willie E. Sheard
This district was formed and operated as District #11 under the leadership of Superintendent Willie E. Sheard for many years.
In 2014 when Administrative Assistant Willie E. Sheard went to be with the Lord, District #11 was renamed the Willie E. Sheard Memorial District (WESMD) to honor him. At that time WESMD was under Southwest Michigan Jurisdiction #1 (SW#1), Bishop John Henry Sheard and reported directly to Superintendent Willie J. Powell Sr. of Grace Fellowship House of Solutions in Ypsilanti.
Today, the district remains with Superintendent Willie J. Powell Sr, now Administrative Assistant Powell and with the passing of Bishop John Henry Sheard, SW#1 is now under the leadership of Jurisdictional Bishop Marcus R. Ways, Pastor of Christian Gospel Center, Detroit, MI.
